Admission A competitive All India Entrance Examination will be held for admission to the Ph.D. programme in different disciplines on Tuesday, the 21st June, 2011 at following centres:
Examination Centres: NDRI, Karnal (Haryana) SRS, of NDRI, Adugodi, Bangalore (Karnataka) ERS of NDRI, Kalyani (West Bengal)
Disciplines : Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Animal Biochemistry, Animal Biotechnology, Animal Genetics & Breeding, Livestock Production & Management, Animal Nutrition, Animal Physiology, Dairy Economics, Dairy Extension Education.
Eligibility: Candidates having passed (or due to appear in the final examination) their Master’s degree in the concerned field with Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of at least 6.60/10.00 in ten-point scale, at least 3.25/5.00 in five-point scale, at least 2.60/4.00 in four-point scale for General, OBC and UPS
categories candidates whereas for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates the said requirement is an OGPA of at least 5.60/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 respectively.
In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General,
OBC and UPS categories whereas for SC/ST/PH the requirement is 50% marks. (Please note that equivalence between OGPA and % marks will not be acceptable).
The candidate must have completed all requirements including thesis viva voce examination or project training etc. on or before 31st July, 2011.
In-service candidates: Candidates in permanent employment with Central/State Governments and Universities with minimum two years service (as on 31st July 2011) in the relevant field of specialisation and otherwise
meeting the eligibility requirements given above can apply as in-service candidates.
The candidates must be fully sponsored by the employer.
The in-service candidates are also required to appear in the entrance examination and obtain minimum qualifying marks for admission as in-service candidate.
How to Apply: Information Bulletin and Application Form can be obtained from the office of Registrar (Academic) by post wef 1.4.2011 to 10.5.2011 and from the cash Counter of Cashier, NDRI, Karnal w.e.f. 1.4.2011 to 13.5.2011 by paying Rs. 1200/- in cash.
The Information Bulletin can also be obtained by post from the Registrar, NDRI, Karnal-132 001 (Haryana) by submitting a DD of Rs. 1200/- drawn in
favour of “ICAR UNIT, NDRI, KARNAL” payable on any Nationalised Bank at Karnal. No cheque/ postal order/ money order is acceptable. While making request for supply of information bulletin the following information should be given:
1. Name (in capital letters)
2. Full Postal address with PIN code.
3. Course in which candidate seeking admission.
4. Details of Demand Draft.
The application form and information bulletin can also be downloaded from NDRI Website: http://www.ndri.res.in.
The completed form may be submitted to the Registrar (Academic), University Office, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal- 132001 along with bank draft of Rs.1200/-.
The bank draft must be drawn in favour of “ICAR Unit, NDRI, Karnal” payable at Karnal.
